A storm in our pockets [Infographic]

Cross-Platform Tools are making a big progress in the app developer community

A growing portion of developers are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of Cross-Platform Tools (CPT), and leading vendors have made significant progress in the rate of adoption by app developers. Myanmar: the final frontier for the mobile internet

MEF Member OnDevice Research has released a fascinating new report on the mobile habits of consumers in Myanmar (also known as Burma), thought to be the first survey of its kind in the country. It found, among many observations, that half of the mobile internet population came online during the past 12 months, and for 62 per cent of the respondents, mobile is the primary way to get online. Mobile Shopping 2014: the rise of the omni-consumer [infographic]

Tablet shoppers are most active from 9:00 PM until midnight with 40 per cent of tablet owners making purchases as they wind down from work.  That's according to the latest analysis from the affiliate marketing network, Tradedoubler  in its report, Mobile Shopping Research (the rise of the omniconsumer). MEF Africa Report: Mobile Leaders Confident of Regional Industry Expansion

First announced at the recent Africa Day in Johannesburg, MEF this week launched the second part of its three-country African Growth Market Study, which surveyed mobile business leaders in the region to deliver an industry snapshot of market confidence and key drivers for mobile content and commerce in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. Confidence across the continent was shown to be high with over two-thirds in Kenya (70%) and South Africa (68%) and almost all in Nigeria (93%) optimistic for  mobile content and commerce revenue growth.
