Despite the highest levels of air pollution on record last week MEF Asia members enjoyed the annual gathering at CommunicAsia 2013, the region’s largest integrated info communication technology event,
The Chapter hosted an exclusive MEF Mixer as part of a line-up of MEF’s CommunicAsia 2013 activities. Now an annual favorite, the evening was supported by Kimia and Smaato and held at Orgo Bar & Restaurant, atop the iconic Esplanade – Theatres by the Bay – Singapore’s performing Arts Center.
Reflecting the Chapter’s diversity, the evening attracted participants from 12 countries including: Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UK & Russia.
MEF Members ranging from Blackberry, One97 and Malaysia’s Multimedia Media Development Corporation were seen deep in conversation with senior executives from AVG, BuzzCity and the chapter’s newest addition, Twist Mobile from India.
Colin Miles, MEF Asia’s Board Chairman said: “Although Singapore’s haze was reaching legendary proportions, our members showed up in force for what has become a favorite annual event during an otherwise crowded social schedule.”
Activities at this year’s CommunicAsia extended beyond parties of course, as MEF organized and hosted thought leadership panels at the main conference, featuring more than a dozen MEF members and invited industry guests:
- How can SME’s harness mobile giants? Harnessing the power of one of the world’s largest mobile markets: India.
- Consumer Trust in Mobile Apps
- Co-hosted panel: The Future Of m-Commerce: Achieving True Growth – Creating the Common Highway for Mobile Payments
Summing up the hectic week MEF Asia’s General Manager, Linda Ruck said: “it was great to see so many members supporting and engaging at this key event in the MEF Asia calendar – speaking, meeting and getting to do some on-the- ground deal-making and networking in the Singapore Haze just added to the memorable occasion”.
