Kim Arazi, Global Director of Events at MEF is already planning Mobile World Congress 2014, developing new benefits exclusive to MEF members.

UPDATE: After a positive response, MEF Members now have until Wednesday the 17th July to confirm their interest and secure their place on the MEF Pavilion – Contact us now!

Aching feet, hunger, exhaustion, crowds, no wi-fi, hunger, perpetually getting lost, queues, hunger…

No – this isn’t a description of trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro or braving a rainy Saturday at the mall, but rather an average day at the industry’s definitive global trade event: Mobile World Congress. The greater mobile industry experiences all of the above each February, while hiking through the indoor jungle known as the FIRA.

MEF members and the wider mobile content & commerce industry are familiar with now firmly established, MEF Monday night party MEF Connects MWC to kick off the week in Barcelona. From the Carpe Diem days to Mondo Club (remember the Playboy bunnies & pink cocktails?) to the cultured venues of the Picasso Museum and the MACBA, our party is something everyone at the MEF team is very proud of, providing the highest calibre of guests and best international networking. This trend is set to continue for 2014 with our return to MACBA for the biggest party yet – stay tuned to MEF Minute for the latest updates.

What do MEF members want at MWC?

For 2014 we are offering members an exciting opportunity that will deliver exceptional value to maximise the opportunities in Barcelona. After analysing the results of the recent member survey and speaking to a number of member companies, we learned that many are interested in having MEF not only host a great networking event, but also help in navigating the complexities of the Congress to give their businesses maximum exposure at the Fira.

Exhibiting at MWC is a major investment both in terms of budget and resource. We believe we have come up with a great solution: the MEF Pavilion. The plan is to host this magnificent stand in a key location in Hall 8.1 (AppsPlanet), where up to eight member companies would be able to exhibit under the MEF umbrella, saving time, money and effort of planning an exhibitor stand on their own and ensuring quality foot traffic by being part of an international industry trade body and standing alongside your peers in the industry.

The MEF Pavilion will offer each member a bespoke-design for their own branded wall with a plasma, shelf and stool (including all A/V) and refreshments. Participating companies will be able to host press briefings on the stand in a dedicated open arena as well as hold private meetings in a separate meeting room. Finally, all exhibitors in the MEF Pavilion will receive 10 exhibitor passes for their team or guests and five additional tickets to the MEF party – so two of the most sought after tickets in town for the mobile content and commerce community. But this will only happen if our members want it! Slots are already reserved – deadline July 10th Wednesday the 17th July

Contact us today to discuss the opportunity in more detail and although we don’t have control of the lunch queues, dodgy wi-fi and never-ending corridors, we hope that the MEF Pavilion will provide a refuge (or at least some familiar faces!) from the craziness of Congress.
